Why do humans love music so much?

When Persephone was taken to rule the Underworld, she first carried springtime in her heart and was filled with love, desire.... emotion. But as centuries passed among silent, wandering souls, she grew numb. The dead cannot feel, and slowly… neither could she. Persephone desperately wanted emotion back, the joy of life, the thrill of love, even the sting of sorrow. She needed to feel something. So she sang to the damned souls. Her voice, woven with magic, stirred emotion in the dead, but it wasn’t enough. She wanted the emotions of the living: their passion, their fear, their desire. She wanted to reach us.... to reach humanity. So she sent us her daughters.
