Present Day
As time passed, humans learned to create music on their own. They didn’t realize that the magic Persephone placed into sound never disappeared. Early music still contained traces of her power, but everything changed when the radio was invented.
For the first time, music could reach millions of people at once. The Sirens no longer had to target individuals one by one. Music could now spread everywhere and this allowed Persephone and the sirens to collect huge amounts of emotion from humanity every single day.
Today, performers who sing live become temporary vessels for the Sirens. The confidence, stage presence, and intense reactions they create in the audience do not come from talent alone. This is Persephone’s ancient magic working through them. When a crowd screams, cries, or gets chills from a performance, Persephone absorbs all of that emotional energy from the Underworld.
Music affects humans so strongly because Persephone designed it that way. She wants us to feel as much as possible so she can take those emotions for herself.
Every emotion you’ve ever felt while listening to music… guess what… Persephone felt it too.
